Customize Embroidered Patches
Custom Embroidered Patches Made to Your Design
EP-CF makes custom embroidered patches from your logo or artwork. You can order as few as 10 pieces, choose from 11 sizes between 2 and 12 inches, pick your border and backing, and upload your design in a few steps. Each patch is stitched to match your artwork, with clean edges and sharp detail. We ship to customers across the United States.
Starting at $0.70 per piece, depending on size, colors, and options. Your exact price appears as you build your order.
What Is a Custom Embroidered Patch?
A custom embroidered patch is a piece of fabric with your design stitched into it using colored thread. Embroidery gives the design a textured, woven look that holds up to washing and daily wear. Teams, clubs, brands, schools, and military units use embroidered patches on jackets, hats, bags, uniforms, and workwear.
Pick Your Patch Options
Each option changes how the patch looks, feels, and attaches. Choose the combination that fits your use.
Embroidery coverage. Choose 50%, 75%, or 100% embroidered. Lower coverage shows more of the base fabric and can cost less. Full 100% coverage gives a solid, dense look for logos with large color areas.
Number of colors. Pick 1 to 9 colors, 10 colors, or 11 to 12 colors. Fewer colors keep the design simple and are a good fit for single-logo jobs. More colors suit detailed artwork with many shades.
Shape. Choose from circle, square, horizontal and vertical oval, horizontal and vertical rectangle, diamond, shield (three styles), top rocker, bottom rocker, and several custom shapes. Rocker shapes are common for military and unit patches.
Size. Sizes run from 2 inches (50.8 mm) to 12 inches (304.8 mm), in one-inch steps. A 2 to 3 inch patch suits hats and sleeves. A 4 to 6 inch patch works for chest and back placement. Patches 7 inches and above suit large back designs.
Border. Choose one of three finishes:
- Merrow border: A tight, rounded edge stitched around the outline. It is the classic look for embroidered patches and gives the cleanest finish on most designs.
- Heat cut border: The edge is cut with heat, which seals the fabric. Works well with simple shapes and iron-on backing.
- Laser cut border: The edge is cut by laser for precise outlines. Suits detailed shapes and fine edges.
Backing. Pick the attachment that matches how you will use the patch:
- Sew-on (no backing): Stitch the patch onto the item by hand or machine. Best for jackets, uniforms, and bags you want to keep long term.
- Iron-on: Apply heat to bond the patch to the fabric. Quick and good for hats, shirts, and bags.
- 3M self-adhesive: Peel and stick onto a smooth surface. Good for hard-shell gear and bags, not fabric you wash often.
- Plastic: A hard-back option for display and specific applications.
- Velcro hook or loop: Lets you swap patches on a hook-and-loop base.
- Double Velcro: Hook on both sides for patches that need to be secured on both sides.
- Safety pin: Clip on and remove without sewing. Useful for temporary wear and events.
If you are not sure, start with sew-on for uniforms and jackets, and iron-on for hats and casual wear.
How Our Embroidered Patches Compare
Choosing a patch type depends on how much detail you need, how the patch will be worn, and your budget.
Embroidered vs woven. Embroidered patches have a raised, thread-based texture and are strong for logos with solid color areas. Woven patches have a flatter, finer finish and suit small text and detailed lines. Our [woven patches] are a good choice for fine detail.
Flat vs 3D embroidered. Flat embroidery sits close to the fabric. Our [3D embroidered patches] add a raised, puffy effect for a bolder look.
Embroidered vs PVC. Embroidered patches feel like fabric and suit clothing. [PVC patches] are rubber-like, waterproof, and used for gear and outdoor use.
Common Uses for Custom Embroidered Patches
- Uniforms and workwear: Name tags, crew logos, and department patches.
- Sports teams and clubs: Jerseys, jackets, bags, and team caps.
- Military and veteran units: Unit crests and rocker patches (follow your unit's approved design rules).
- Schools and events: Spirit patches, class designs, and event merch.
- Brands and businesses: Logo patches for staff, customers, and product packaging.
- Personal projects: Jackets, backpacks, hats, and gifts.

Artwork Requirements
For the cleanest result, send vector artwork (AI or PDF) with your logo and colors clearly defined. If you only have a JPG or PNG, use the largest version you have. Make sure text is not too small, and keep fine lines at least as thick as the thread detail in your chosen size. Our team checks every file before production and will contact you if a change is needed.
